  36. The bus which the PC's usually access memory from are only upwards of 33MHz
  37. which 70ns RAM is plenty capable of handling.  This is my understanding.
  38. You will sometimes see 60ns RAM on some PC's and I always wonder if it is
  39. actually taking advantage of the faster RAM.  On the Amiga, I regularly
  40. hear people saying that if you are going to go with a CPU faster than a
  41. 33Mhz 030 that you should get 60ns RAM... Obviously the Amiga can access
  42. RAM faster than a PC somewhere.

  44. Also, keep in mind that a 486DX2-66 is only being accessed from the Mother
  45. Board at 33MHz... Still within the 70ns range.  Same with 486DX4-100, but
  46. its only 25MHz in this case.  A 486DX4-120 is 30MHz and so on.  The only
  47. possible exception I am aware of is the AMD (I believe) 486DX2-80 which
  48. would access at 40MHz and would seemingly be able to take advantage of
  49. 60ns RAM.  Obviously, I am not aware of how this compares in the Pentium
  50. realm, but I still only see systems selling with 70ns RAM with an
  51. occasional 60ns, again, is it taking advantage of the faster RAM?

  53. Basically, it appears that the Amiga has the ability to access RAM faster
  54. IF a faster CPU is being used than the typical PC does.
